Byron Robayo is a partner at Spingarn and one of the most experienced lawyers in intellectual property, protection of intangible assets and technology transfer in Ecuador. During his professional career, he has handled the most emblematic cases of Ecuador related to Intellectual Property, Unfair Competition, Health Law, Data Privacy, Business Secrets, Electronic Commerce and Consumption for national and international companies.

He has represented Ecuador as an expert in Technology Transfer before the Intellectual Property and Development Committee of the World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva, Switzerland and is the first Ecuadorian lawyer to be part of the Inventor Assistance Program of the World Intellectual Property Organization. Intellectual Property, who has also appointed him as IP expert for the Latin American region. He has advised the embassies of the United States and Switzerland in the promotion and protection of Intellectual Property in Ecuador.

He has been a consultant for the drafting of various regulatory bodies, now in force in Ecuador in various areas such as: Franchises, Licenses, Business Secrets, Patents, Technology Transfer, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Crowdfunding.

Byron is a professor of the Commercial Law Chair and also of the Technology Transfer and Innovation Chair at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador - PUCE; He is a professor of the Innovation Management course of the MBA at EDES Business School.
